Joining First Baptist Church
At the close of each worship service an invitation is given to those in attendance. It is designed to allow those who wish to make a public decision the opportunity to do so. Our staff will be on hand to council with you concerning that decision. The following are ways in which you may join:
By Baptism
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and desire to follow Him in baptism as a public profession of your faith, you may wish to present yourself as a candidate for baptism and church membership.
By Letter
If you come by letter from another Baptist Church, FBC will be glad to request the letter of membership from your former Church.
By Statement
If you have come from another Baptist Church that is unable to provide a letter of membership, we will accept you based upon your statement of faith.
Once you come forward with the intent of joining by one of the ways listed above, we will make arrangements with you to take our New Member Orientation class, taught by our pastor. Once that course is completed, you will be presented before the church for membership.
The purpose of the New Member Orientation class is to acclamate you to the Church Covenant, allow you take a spiritual gifts inventory, and find out where you would best fit in ministry within our body of believers. It also gives us the chance to get to know you!
